Lempp, a lawyer, has been Managing Director of the German energy traders' association EFET Germany and COO of the European parent organisation EFET for ten years. She started her career in the energy industry and and the field of energy policy as the office manager of the Chairman of the Industry Committee in the European Parliament, Herbert Reul. This position was followed by various positions in the RWE Group before she made her mark on the energy association landscape. She has headed the industry-wide women's energy network FNE since 2014 and been a member of the board of the Sauerländer Botschaft e.V. in Berlin since 2021.
In view of the positive business development, ecotec owner Markus Schnier considers it an important step to welcome an experienced colleague to the team who is familiar with the issues of the industry: "The ecotec team is delighted to have found the ideal person in Barbara Lempp for further growth. With her experience in energy trading and energy law, Ms Lempp brings to ecotec precisely the skillset required to fully support our customers on the path to climate-neutral business. This makes her an excellent fit for ecotec. Over the next few years we have made it our goal to expand our market leadership in holistic consulting for large end consumers. We look forward to the future with her."
Barbara Lempp as well is very much looking forward to her new role: "I find it exciting to be able to change my perspective and to now take a step into the engine room of the energy transition. I see taking the cost pressure off the shoulders of industrial companies, data centres and universities as absolutely meaningful. I want to work with companies to ensure that they utilise economic opportunities arising from the gradual ecological transformation of society. Together with our customers we want to lead the energy transition to success."
