The initial situation
Energy procurement at Fripa is managed independently at a high level. The cooperation with ecotec has been constantly realigned. ecotec anticipates new developments and translates potentials into optimizations for Fripa. This is how ecotec has proven itself time and again - for 20 years. Most recently with the question of the right procurement model - early enough, before a long-term full-supply contract ended.
Competition for futures market products & multi-supplier model
After the market turbulence in 2022 and 2023, it was clear that a new solution had to be found. The aim was to avoid the sharp increase in surcharges on the procurement price in the full-supply and to achieve transparency and competition in the procurement of forward market products.
A multi-supplier model achieved both of these goals. Fripa can now operate more freely on the market and has significantly greater flexibility. By implementing the digital procurement platform enmacc, Fripa benefits from competition between different bidders and thus achieves additional savings. The processing and documentation of futures market transactions are also more convenient.
