In a letter to customers seen by energate, the industry association and the procurement specialist announced that they have already reached their own target of 10,000 GWh per year for their LNG pool. The mid-term tender will take place at the end of October or beginning of November.
The target group is medium-sized and large industrial customers with an annual consumption of at least 50 GWh. The argument put forward by VIK's consulting subsidiary EnB and Ecotec is that the companies can jointly access cheap LNG volumes without committing themselves in the long term, for example through take-or-pay contracts. With many new LNG export projects coming on stream in the next few years, this is likely to lead to an "LNG glut". Companies with flexible contracts could benefit
Seasonal products from 2025 to 2029 can be requested on the AggregateEU platform. The minimum quantity per product is 30 GWh for a pipeline hub delivery and 1,800 GWh for an LNG delivery. Both are possible under the tenders. The delivery points are 26 pipeline transfer points and two virtual LNG transfer points. "The higher the volume of demand that we aggregate at these points, the greater the chance of finding an LNG supplier that can make you an attractive offer," the customer letter states.
