Possible delivery points are all EU trading points and two virtual European LNG zones, north-west Europe and south-east Europe. The platform will only be used to establish contact between buyers and potential suppliers. All actual contract negotiations take place outside the platform. In Germany, the Association of Energy-Intensive Industries (VIK) and Ecotec, a consultant specialising in industrial energy issues, worked on setting up an LNG pool in the run-up to the tender in order to participate in the tender. The aim is to potentially procure LNG volumes via this route.
AggregateEU wanted to hold the tender in autumn 2024, but then postponed it at short notice without giving reasons. The tender in March is the last under the name AggregateEU, organised by the capacity platform Prisma. The service contract with Prisma officially expired at the end of the year. Last year, the EU Commission invited tenders for the operation of a new platform for the joint procurement of natural gas, hydrogen and strategic raw materials. According to information available to energate, a new service provider was also commissioned and is now setting up the platform.
